1. 鼓励;激励
If you encourage someone, you give them confidence, for example by letting them know that what they are doing is good and telling them that they should continue to do it.

e.g. When things aren't going well, he encourages me, telling me not to give up.

2. 使有希望;使有信心
If someone is encouraged by something that happens, it gives them hope or confidence.

e.g. Investors were encouraged by the news...

1. 理想
An ideal is a principle, idea, or standard that seems very good and worth trying to achieve.

e.g. ...the bohemian ideals of truth, beauty, freedom and love.

e.g. I tried to live up to my ideal of myself.
我努力活出理想的自我。

2. 理想典范;完美典型
Your ideal of something is the person or thing that seems to you to be the best possible example of it.

e.g. ...the Japanese ideal of beauty...

e.g. Throughout his career she remained his feminine ideal.
在他整个职业生涯中，她一直是他心中完美女性的代表。

3. 理想的;最佳的
The ideal person or thing for a particular task or purpose is the best possible person or thing for it.

e.g. She decided that I was the ideal person to take over the job...
她认定我是接手这份工作的最佳人选。
e.g. I really love the area and see it as an ideal place to start my managerial career...
我真的很喜欢那个地区，把它视为开创我管理事业的理想之地。

4. 完美的;理想的
An ideal society or world is the best possible one that you can imagine.

e.g. We do not live in an ideal world...
我们并非生活在完美的世界里。
e.g. In an ideal world, there would be no such thing as rubbish...

1. 教;教会
If you teach someone something, you give them instructions so that they know about it or how to do it.

e.g. The trainers have a programme to teach them vocational skills...
培训师计划教他们一些职业技能。
e.g. George had taught him how to ride a horse...
乔治已经教会了他骑马。

2. 教育;教导;使学会
To teach someone something means to make them think, feel, or act in a new or different way.

e.g. Their daughter's death had taught him humility...
他们女儿的死使他学会了谦逊。
e.g. He taught his followers that they could all be members of the kingdom of God...
他教导信徒们说，他们都可以升入天国。

3. 教授;讲授;教书
If you teach or teach a subject, you help students to learn about it by explaining it or showing them how to do it, usually as a job at a school, college, or university.

e.g. Ingrid is currently teaching Mathematics at Shimla Public School...
英格丽德目前在希姆拉公立学校教数学。
e.g. The topic is not taught in degree courses...
学位课程不讲授这个课题。
