1. 把…准备好；使预备好
If you prepare something, you make it ready for something that is going to happen.

e.g. Two technicians were preparing a videotape recording of last week's programme...

2. 为…做准备；筹备
If you prepare for an event or action that will happen soon, you get yourself ready for it or make the necessary arrangements.

When you prepare food, you get it ready to be eaten, for example by cooking it.

e.g. She made her way to the kitchen, hoping to find someone preparing dinner...

e.g. The best way of preparing the nuts is to rehydrate them by soaking overnight.

A filling is a small amount of metal or plastic that a dentist puts in a hole in a tooth to prevent further decay.

The filling in something such as a cake, pie, or sandwich is a substance or mixture that is put inside it.

The filling in a piece of soft furniture or in a cushion is the soft substance inside it.
