1. 坏的；令人不快的；不合意的；有害的；糟糕的
Something that is bad is unpleasant, harmful, or undesirable.

e.g. The bad weather conditions prevented the plane from landing...
糟糕的天气使飞机无法降落。
e.g. We have been going through a bad time...
我们正经历一段困难时期。

2. 严重的；厉害的；剧烈的
You use bad to indicate that something unpleasant or undesirable is severe or great in degree.

e.g. He had a bad accident two years ago and had to give up farming...
他两年前遇到严重的车祸，不得不放弃务农。
e.g. This was a bad case of dangerous driving...
这是一起严重的危险驾驶案例。

3. 不明智的；错误的；不对的
A bad idea, decision, or method is not sensible or not correct.

e.g. Economist Jeffrey Faux says a tax cut is a bad idea...
经济学家杰弗里·福克斯认为减税是不明智的。
e.g. Of course politicians will sometimes make bad decisions...
政治家当然有时也会作出错误的决定。

4. 不利的；不幸的
If you describe a piece of news, an action, or a sign as bad, you mean that it is unlikely to result in benefit or success.

e.g. The closure of the project is bad news for her staff...
项目终止对她的雇员来说是一个不幸的消息。
e.g. It was a bad start in my relationship with Warr...
我与沃尔的关系开始得不太顺利。

5. 不合标准的；劣质的；蹩脚的；不足的
Something that is bad is of an unacceptably low standard, quality, or amount.

e.g. She was in rather a bad film about the Mau Mau...
她出演了一部关于茅茅运动（20世纪50年代肯尼亚基库尤人反抗英国殖民者的民族主义运动）的烂片。
e.g. Many old people in Britain are living in bad housing...

6. 不擅长的；不善于的
Someone who is bad at doing something is not skilful or successful at it.

e.g. He had increased Britain's reputation for being bad at languages...

7. 难以接受的；令人遗憾的
If you say that it is bad that something happens, you mean it is unacceptable, unfortunate, or wrong.

e.g. Not being able to hear doesn't seem as bad as not being able to see...
看不见比听不到更让人难以忍受。
e.g. You need at least ten pounds if you go to the cinema nowadays — it's really bad.
现在看场电影至少要花上10英镑——真是太贵了。

8. （尤表示惊讶）不错的，不坏的，挺好的
You can say that something is not bad to mean that it is quite good or acceptable, especially when you are rather surprised about this.

e.g. 'How much is he paying you?' — 'Oh, five thousand.' —'Not bad.'...
“他给你多少钱？”——“哦，5,000。”——“挺不错嘛。”
e.g. 'How are you, mate?' — 'Not bad, mate, how's yourself?'...
“最近怎么样，老兄？”——“还不错，你呢？”

9. 邪恶的；不道德的
A bad person has morally unacceptable attitudes and behaviour.

e.g. I was selling drugs, but I didn't think I was a bad person...
我贩卖毒品，但我并不觉得自己是个坏人。
e.g. He does not think that his beliefs make him any worse than any other man.
他觉得自己的信仰并不让他比其他人更邪恶。

If you are prepared for something that you think is going to happen, you are ready for it.

e.g. Police are prepared for large numbers of demonstrators...

e.g. I'm well prepared for a 12-round fight.

3. 预先准备好的；事先做好的
You can describe something as prepared when it has been done or made beforehand, so that it is ready when it is needed.

e.g. He ended his prepared statement by thanking the police.
在这份事先准备好的声明的最后，他对警方表示了感谢。
