名词艺术家; 画家; 能手

1. 画家;雕塑家;艺术家
An artist is someone who draws or paints pictures or creates sculptures as a job or a hobby.

e.g. ...the studio of a great artist...
一个伟大的艺术家的工作室
e.g. Each poster is signed by the artist...
每幅海报都有这个艺术家的签名。

2. 艺术家（如小说家、诗人、导演等）
An artist is a person who creates novels, poems, films, or other things which can be considered as works of art.

e.g. His books are enormously easy to read, yet he is a serious artist...
虽然他是一个不折不扣的艺术家，但是他的作品极其通俗易懂。
e.g. Engel is quoted as saying that balanced people do not become artists.
引用恩格尔的话说就是理性的人是成不了艺术家的。

3. 表演艺术家;艺人
An artist is a performer such as a musician, actor, or dancer.

e.g. ...a popular artist who has sold millions of records.
唱片销量达到数百万张的当红音乐家

4. 能手;高手;大师
If you say that someone is an artist at a particular activity, you mean they are very skilled at it.

e.g. He is an exceptional footballer — an artist.
他是一名出色的足球运动员，一个足球高手。
