1. 飞行;航行
A flight is a journey made by flying, usually in an aeroplane.

e.g. The flight will take four hours.
这次航行要飞 4 个小时。

2. 航班;客机
You can refer to an aeroplane carrying passengers on a particular journey as a particular flight .

e.g. I'll try to get on the flight down to Karachi tonight...
我尽量赶上今晚去卡拉奇的航班。
e.g. BA flight 286 was two hours late.
英国航空公司 286 次航班晚点两个小时。

3. 飞行;飞行能力
Flight is the action of flying, or the ability to fly.

e.g. These hawks are magnificent in flight, soaring and circling for long periods...
这些鹰飞行能力极其出色，可以长时间在空中翱翔和盘旋。
e.g. Supersonic flight could become a routine form of travel in the 21st century.
搭乘超音速飞机会成为 21 世纪常规的旅行方式。

4. 鸟群
A flight of birds is a group of them flying together.

e.g. A flight of green parrots shot out of the cedar forest.

5. 逃避;躲开
Flight is the act of running away from a dangerous or unpleasant situation or place.

e.g. Frank was in full flight when he reached them...
弗兰克正在拼命奔逃，这时他联系到了他们。
e.g. The family was often in flight, hiding out in friends' houses.
这一家人常常东躲西藏，在朋友家里避风头。

6. 一段(台阶或楼梯)
A flight of steps or stairs is a set of steps or stairs that lead from one level to another without changing direction.

e.g. We walked in silence up a flight of stairs and down a long corridor.

An idea or statement that is very imaginative but complicated, silly, or impractical can be referred to as a flight of fancy .

e.g. Cockburn engaged in a flight of fancy, never once allowing facts to get in the way.

If someone takes flight, they run away from an unpleasant situation or place.

e.g. He was told of the raid and decided to take flight immediately.
